Acclaimed Dutch DJ and producer Eelke Kleijn has released his long-awaited fifth studio album, ‘Connected’, out now via DAYS like NIGHTS/Armada Music. Best known for his genre-blurring productions, Kleijn now ventures into the indie dance world, blending his progressive house background with a vocal-driven sound unlike anything he’s created before.

A New Sonic Chapter for Eelke Kleijn

‘Connected’ marks a significant creative evolution for Kleijn. For the first time, the Dutch artist leans heavily into melodic vocal elements, expanding his signature style to embrace a richer, more emotional soundscape. The album showcases Kleijn’s growth and experimentation, stepping away from traditional dance music formulas in favor of organic instrumentation, cinematic textures, and storytelling.

Accompanying the album release is a documentary film, also titled Connected, offering a personal look into Kleijn’s artistic development. The documentary traces his journey from his roots in Rotterdam to performing across Latin America, featuring exclusive interviews with long-time manager Jeroen Fontein and Argentine house legend Hernán Cattáneo.

From Concept to Creation: A Musical Transformation

Originally conceived in 2016 as a synth-heavy dance album, ‘Connected’ evolved through multiple creative phases. Post-pandemic burnout inspired Kleijn to rethink his approach, resulting in a broader sonic palette filled with live instruments, layered harmonies, and introspective songwriting.

“Something I want to achieve with all my albums is longevity,” Kleijn shares. “If someone listens to ‘Connected’ 20 years from now, I hope it still sounds fresh and innovative.”
