Benny V & K-Warren Join Forces for Emotive Drum & Bass Track ‘You Are’
UKG royalty meets Drum & Bass depth as Roadblock Records signals a bold new chapter—exclusively on Beatport.

Roadblock Records boss Benny V has teamed up with UKG legend K-Warren for a surprise genre crossover, delivering an emotive Drum & Bass cut titled You Are. Premiered during Benny V’s set for Beatport’s New Out of Office series and released exclusively on the platform, the collaboration is a powerful statement of where the label—and Benny himself—are heading musically.
“K is a personal friend of mine and probably one of my closest friends in music,” Benny V shared. “Although he’s famous for his UK Garage hits, he’s always loved Drum & Bass, Jungle, and rave culture—and he’s incredibly knowledgeable. I didn’t have to twist his arm too much to get him over to the dark side!”
The track’s origins are rooted in a shared musical understanding. Benny V kicked things off by writing the piano intro and sending it to K-Warren, who began shaping the rest of the production. “From there, we bounced ideas on melodies, structure, and length,” he said. “One of the great things about K and I is we write music first. When two artists are musical—even if they’re known for different genres—the process becomes a lot easier. K had been working with a vocalist called Haley McCabe and her voice is amazing. She has really elevated the track to another level"
You Are stands apart from traditional UKG or classic Drum & Bass—it’s a track that leans into melancholy and emotion. “I’ve always found that there’s something incredibly emotive about Drum & Bass with a melancholy vibe,” Benny V explained. “All music, really. It just hits you in the feels in a way that’s quite unique.”
The release also marks an important milestone for Roadblock Records. Coming hot on the heels of The Prototypes’ Feed My Soul, which gained major daytime radio play, You Are cements the label’s reputation for balancing dancefloor energy with musical depth. “If you can release music that people can dance to and also just listen to, you’re moving in the right direction,” Benny said. “There’ll still be some dancefloor bangers though. That will never change!”
The track dropped exclusively on Beatport, a platform Benny V sees as vital for championing underground UK sounds. “Beatport is pivotal in dance music. It’s not just a store—it’s a platform that can really accelerate your music. They’ve got experts in every genre, and they really know their stuff.”
Debuting the track during his Out of Office mix felt like a full-circle moment. “I absolutely love the concept of Beatportal, and when I was invited to do the mix for the Out of Office series, it was a no-brainer,” he said. “I knew You Are had been getting great rave and club traction, so it made total sense to open the set with it. The response has been nothing short of incredible.”
That positive feedback is already opening new doors. “It’s great,” Benny added. “But it also means more work—because more brilliant opportunities come up that you simply must take.”
