Ok. I get it. Deep house is house. Minimal is tech. Tech is edm. Electro is indie. Indie is pop. Pop is… hmmmmm
Anyways.... I think the point is… All things… Including genres - shed their skin. It's inevitable. Like a potato becoming a french fry… Or an olive salad dressing.
Which brings me to SHED THE SKIN by BABYWEIGHT and STARYA.
I'm not entirely sure what genre it is.
It's got elements of prog, it's got melody (but I don't think that means it's melodic house… No it's def not that) it's got techy drums for sure - but there's something about the bassline and the vocals that gives me some kinda 2005/2006 electro vibes...
And what an era!!!
