After a life-changing journey and two years without releasing original material, the Solid Grooves boss returns with Sungazing (Electronic Mix) - a powerful and emotional comeback track that blends spiritual depth with dance floor energy.

Michael Bibi has always been a connector - between sounds, between people, between energy on the dance floor and something deeper in the soul. Last Friday, the Solid Grooves founder released “Sungazing (Electronic Mix)”, his first new music since publicly announcing his cancer diagnosis in mid-2023. But calling it a "release" feels too narrow.
“Sungazing” is a moment of healing, reflection and artistic rebirth.
Built around the ethereal acoustic original by American folk artists Alexa Sunshine Rose and Aimee Ringle, "Sungazing" finds new life in Bibi’s hands. It’s not just a remix, but a reimagining - a slow-burning, deeply emotive piece of electronic music that blends Alexa’s intimate vocals and guitar with Bibi’s trademark low-end pulse and hypnotic textures. Echoes of “Hanging Tree” and “Got The Fire" linger, but this track moves differently. It floats. It breathes.
“I dreamed of that show while in the hospital,” Bibi said, reflecting on his sold-out One Life show at Finsbury Park in 2024, where 45,000 fans gathered in support. “Seeing it happen was one of the most beautiful moments of my life - now being able to give back with this music release is another milestone in my healing process.”
Diagnosed with CNS lymphoma - a rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects the brain and spinal cord - Bibi was forced to step away from music entirely in June 2023. What followed was a harrowing six-month battle that unfolded with brutal honesty across social media. By December, he announced he was in remission. In classic Bibi fashion, he didn’t return quietly.
His first appearance post-recovery came in the form of a surprise set at DC-10 in Ibiza. By spring 2024, he was back headlining Coachella, Creamfields, and touring internationally, often road-testing new material - including “Sungazing” - in front of tens of thousands. But this latest release isn’t engineered for the peak-time drop. It’s something gentler, something that invites introspection.
Just before the second drop, Bibi’s own voice enters the mix, a subtle but powerful presence, more felt than heard. It’s a whispered reminder of the journey behind the track.

The single also marks the formal launch of the Michael Bibi One Life Foundation, with proceeds going towards supporting cancer patients through music, art, and wellness programs. The foundation aims to reimagine hospital experiences through immersive, creative environments - offering the kind of emotional support that often goes overlooked in clinical care.
The One Life movement, which began as a heartfelt thank-you tour, has grown into a global campaign. With sold-out shows across Europe and upcoming editions planned in New York, Dubai, Ibiza and London, it’s now a rallying point for resilience, joy, and collective energy.
Bibi headlines One Life London on July 5th. Before that, “Sungazing (Electronic Mix)” is now available on Beatport - a sunrise after a long, uncertain night.
