Bicep have shared their latest single, “CHROMA 009 KR36.” The new piece of music comes under their Dove alias as a part of their CHROMA project. Featuring the ethereal vocals of London’s own Kehina, this track harbors the sporadic drums and coruscating electronics for which Bicep is known, bringing all the sonic elements together into a singular progressive composition.

"It’s a dizzying, trance-like track that weirdly reminds me of a lot of the music my mum used to play when I was a kid, particularly North African Gnawa music. That same hypnotic rhythm, that trance you fall into while dancing” Kehina says in a press release. “I recorded and wrote this a month or two after vocal surgery. It really helped pull me out of my head and reminded me why I love making music in the first place. It helped me imagine a future in something I’d had to step back from for a while."

This is the ninth release under Bicep’s CHROMA project, which comprises their events, AV/DJ show, and a record label of the same name. However, this is only their second CHROMA release as Dove, which they describe as “a place where we can put more singular ideas down, less focused on complete songs and more on experimental concepts we work on in the studio.”

“CHROMA 009 KR36” by Dove and Kehina is available now via CHROMAPurchase it on Beatport.
