Stacey Pullen Stokes Blackflag Recordings’ Relaunch with his ‘M€$O’ EP
The techno stalwart continues to unspool a new era of Blackflag sound.

Stacey Pullen’s Blackflag Recordings is steadily waving once again.
After formally reactivating the house and techno hub in December 2023 via the release of BFR Rehash, Vol. 1 & 2, the Detroit-raised talent returns to his esteemed imprint in groove-ridden fashion. Cue Pullen’s M€$O EP, an animated and characteristically squeaky-clean effort that’s sure to incite movement, owed in no small part to its rolling percussion and funk-tinged guitar riffs.
The four-tracker features both an original and a sub mix of its eponymous number, which harkens back to the ‘80s by sampling The B-52s’ “Mesopotamia.” After starting the party with both versions of “M€$O,” the veteran sound purveyor keeps it going with “Strutt” and an accompanying rework thereof from Brazil’s own Jamie Coins. Listen below.
Pullen’s M€$O EP marks Blackflag’s second release following the conclusion of its three-and-a-half-year hiatus late last year. Though the label went quiet for quite some time, “2024 will be the year of waving the Blackflag once again,” Pullen proclaimed. “We have never shifted away from releasing good quality music. This year, we will continue that tradition by bringing you new fresh young talent along with some classic names in the business. I’m happy with what I did on this latest release, but really this is just a taste of what I have in store from me as a producer and as A&R for Blackflag.”
