Kaskade and Lipless Share Latest Collaboration, “State Of Mind”
This new single continues the two producers’ longstanding musical relationship.

Kaskade and Lipless are back with a new single, “State Of Mind.” Like their previous collaborations such as their Grammy-nominated remix of “Only” by RY X, this track is a wash of colorful progressive house. Opening with swirling arpeggios that feel like sonic clouds moving through pristine sunset hues, the comforting vocals of Poppy Baskcomb fuel a wondrous combination of electronic instruments.
The ability to create such a strong piece of music comes from a level of familiarity Kaskade and Lipless have developed over more than a decade. The two first connected when Lipless was sending demos to Kaskade’s MySpace in 2014. Kaskade took the opportunity to mentor the young producer, which led to him helping Lipless move to LA. Now Lipless has contributed to several tracks on Kx5, the Grammy-nominated album from Kaskade and deadmau5.
Sharing his thoughts on the new track, Lipless says, “When I first heard the vocal demo, the lyrics really resonated with me on a deeper level. I felt such a connection with it and how it talks about being in a better place or better ‘State Of Mind’. I was coming out of a tough year and had worked hard to get myself into a better place mentally and physically and when this demo came along it almost felt as if the universe had intended for it to make its way into my hands. I showed the demo to Kaskade and he also felt a connection to it, so we decided to work on it together and did our best to produce it in a way that paid tribute to the overall uplifting nature of the song.”
