Carl Cox has relaunched his trendsetting label, Intec. The first release of this new era comes in the form of the EP, Chasing Ghosts, from Carlo Lio and M.I.T.A.. Together these techno veterans have amassed three highly danceable peak-time weapons, honoring the earlier iterations of the genre by combining a sense of funky soul with slamming four-on-the-floor beats.
Cox founded Intec all the way back in 1998, giving space for early releases from now legendary artists like Marco Bailey and Cristian Varela. The label went on its first hiatus in 2006, returning in 2010 for a decade-long run that saw essential artists like Yousef, Nicole Moudaber, and Eats Everything add their names to the catalog.
Lio was a regular on the label through this second run as well, putting out music as far back as 2010 with his deep grooving EP, False Information/Coppa, moving up through 2015 with his hypnotic collection, Escobar.
M.I.T.A., however, is making his debut on Intec with Chasing Ghosts, a sure sign that Cox is always focused on pushing dance music forward and opening doors for exciting artists.
Chasing Ghosts from Carlo Lio and M.I.T.A. is out now on Intec. Purchase it on Beatport.
