Chris Lake and Ragie Ban have finally released their certified dancefloor weapon, “Toxic.” On this track, Lake combines his skills as a modern house music icon with the fresh perspective of Ragie Ban, the rising star coming out of Brazil. Together they channel the soulful rhymes of the Bell Biv DeVoe classic, “Poison,” into a ballooning bassline that will fill up festival stages all summer long.

The two artists have also shared the duties of building anticipation for the single. Lake has made three separate posts on his Instagram promoting the track. Then, earlier this week, Ragie Ban posted a video in which he is thrown into a car and has a bag tied over his head. When the bag comes off he is chained to a chair and looking at Lake’s face on a phone screen. All Lake says is:

“We have a record to make. Are you ready for this?” Then a clip of “Toxic” plays.

This is already Lake’s third new piece of music to come out in 2025. He started the year with his funky remix of Ayra Starr’s afro hit “Goodbye (Warm Up).” Next was his glistening vocal collaboration with Abel Balder, “Ease My Mind.”

Ragie Ban has been busy this year, too, as his remix of “Let’s Go Deep” by David Squillace is also out today as a Beatport exclusive.

“Toxic” by Chris Lake and Ragie Ban is out now via Black Book Records. Purchase it exclusively on Beatport
