John Monkmon releases 'Place To Be Ft Tailor' on Anjunadeep
John Monkman shares with us the inspiration behind focus track 'Places To Be'.

This track first came to life after playing at Printworks for one of Anjunadeep’s events. The energy of the night was deeply inspiring - I went straight home and started working on the strings, which, for me, captured the essence of that experience. I went through many iterations of the break, trying to get it just right.
Fast forward to last summer in Ibiza, I got a message from Rob (Tailor) asking if he could drop by the studio. We met, instantly hit it off, and after sharing some ideas, I sent him the instrumental version of *Place to Be* -which at the time was called *Post-Printworks*. Rob connected with it immediately and, before long, sent back a vocal that completely blew me away. It captured the moment perfectly - an absolute hole in one.
From there, I decided to create two versions: the original, with its emotive string arrangements, and a more stripped-back, club-friendly version. The string version had a cinematic, almost euphoric feel, but I wanted something that could work better on a dancefloor. I’m really happy with how it turned out - Rob’s vocal takes it to another level.
