Rooted in melodic techno, this track is both dark and uplifting, delivering a powerful emotional progression that mirrors the concept of breaking free from imposed constraints.
“The inspiration came from a feeling of powerlessness—politically, environmentally, and personally. But the truth is, we always have the power to act,” Antiopë explains. This idea is embodied by a synthetic voice, stating: "You are human. You always have the choice." It’s a striking moment, just before the final drop, which bursts with energy and hope.
Musically, Illusion is shaped by influences such as Aalson’s Danger For Humanity and Marius Drescher’s Vertigo. The track begins with a deep, brooding atmosphere, before evolving into a euphoric climax where soaring synths and driving basslines create a sense of empowerment.
“The first drop is dark and impactful, but the second one is brighter, more dynamic—it symbolizes the hope that comes with taking control,” Antiopë shares. Produced in Ableton Live with Diva as the lead synth, Illusion captures both vulnerability and strength in a seamless, cinematic soundscape.
