Hype Label of the Month: Marginalia
Beatport focuses in on ELIF's imaginative and widely sought-after Melodic House & Techno label, Marginalia.

First brought to life in 2023, Marginalia is the conceptual brainchild of the widely in-demand Turkish-born, Barcelona-based DJ/producer ELIF.
A term dating back to the 11th Century, Marginalia are "marks made in the margins of a book or other document," the blank portions of a page that lend themselves to discourse, introspection, creativity, and imagination. It's an idea that encompasses the self-expression and sonic freedom ELIF strives for with her imprint.
"Whether we are aware of it or not, one of the fundamental ways we all digest what we read, hear, see and experience is to absorb the thoughts, musings and broken fragments of others", says ELIF. "It's these very fragments that help us connect ideas and spur critical thinking, and it perfectly represents the type of creative dialogue I'm looking to achieve with Marginalia"
This ethos, paired with her magnificent A&R skills in discovering talent that all too often flies under the radar, has turned Marginalia into one of the scene's most sought-after indie dance and melodic house & techno outlets.
The label features a marvelous pool of talent with the likes of Althoff, Snirco, James Harcourt, Latteo, Manti, Tenvin, Xinobi, Alex Medina, Auggië, Dodi Palese, I Promised Mom, Radeckt, Alican & REBRN. Also soon to release on the label Ivan Masa, Severin Su, Tomper, Nhii & many more
With a resolute pledge to the positive evolution of underground electronic music, it's thanks to labels like Marginalia that the scene's ecosystem continues to remain healthy.
We caught up with ELIF to learn about some of the great artists on the label, some of Marginalia's most essential tracks and to hear about what shows they have coming up next.
