AJAX used to always tell us it's just dance music...make it dumber. Then he would bang his hands on his desk as if to mimic a monkey to kinda illustrate the point.
Which brings me to MASON and BEAT OF THE DRUM.
Lyrically...let's just say...it's not going to win the Pullitzer.....spoiler alert - .the lyrics are the incessant repetition of BANG BANG ..TO THE BEAT OF THE DRUM...but you're missing the point Einstein.
Rome wasn't built in a day and dancefloors aren't built on Nobel prize winning lyrics.
Dancefloors are built on simplicity and sonic warmth - and well......some repetition......
And that's exactly why we love BEAT OF THE DRUM. It's as fat as Albert and does exactly what it says on the packet.
Yes - MASON made one of THE most iconic songs of the modern dancefloor era - but well...we think he's truly exceeded himself with this one.
And we think AJAX would approve.
