Meet the Winners of Miller & Beatport’s Miller Mix Producer Contest

We shine a spotlight on the talented emerging acts who won the Miller Mix producer competition in their respective cities during Beatport x Miller's five nation tour in 2024.

Miller Mix Producer Contest Winners

Back in 2024, Beatport partnered with Miller Genuine Draft to launch Miller Mix - a global world tour and initiative to celebrate and nurture emerging talent in the local electronic music scenes across five nations: Turkey, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Australia, and South Africa.

Nine months after its launch, with countless miles logged and thousands of tickets sold, Miller Mix brought prominent electronic acts to perform for these passionate dance music communities across the globe. Kicking off in Istanbul with techno icon Lily Palmer, the campaign then made its way to Budapest with the dynamic duo Gioli & Assia, the Kazak metropolis of Almaty with hitmaker Argy, the Afro House hub of Johannesburg with local legend Shimza, and finished the year down under in the city of Sydney with dance floor legend Armand Van Helden.

As part of this first string of events — with more to come in 2025 — Miller Mix included a producer competition for up-and-coming electronic music acts from each of these regions to help launch their careers, awarding them an opening performance slot before each headliner.

In addition to locking down an opening set at these highly-anticipated events, each winner was awarded a full subscription to Beatport Streaming, Loopcloud Pro, Beatport Studio, a VSTs & Tools package from Plugin Boutique, a Launchkey Mini [MK3] Midi Controller, a Lewitt - LCT 240 PRO studio microphone, and a JBL Flip 6 customized Bluetooth speaker.

After sifting through hundreds of entries, we are pleased to present the five winners from these five nations of Miller Mix & Beatport’s producer competition!

Tell us a bit about your emerging career in dance music.

I started taking music production and DJing more seriously three years ago, and it feels amazing to do what I truly love. When it comes to genres, techno is what resonates with me the most. One of my biggest dreams is to have one of my tracks released on Drumcode – that would be a huge milestone in my life. Adam Beyer is one of my greatest icons, and he’s a massive inspiration to me, both as a producer and a performer.

How did you feel when you learned you had won Beatport x Miller’s producer competition?

I think I’ll remember the moment I found out I had won the Hungarian round of the competition for the rest of my life. It was one of the most defining mornings I’ve ever had – I’ve never started a day in such a special way. It’s hard to put into words what I felt at that moment. I was overwhelmed with excitement, joy, immense gratitude, happiness, and even a sense of deep emotion.

Being the winner and opening the stage at such a high-level event was not only a huge honor but also the biggest achievement of my career so far. Very few up-and-coming producers and DJs get the chance to be part of an event of this caliber so early in their journey, and for that, I am very grateful.

This experience has strengthened my belief that I’m on the right path and has inspired me to work even harder and give even more of myself through my tracks and performances. My goal is to share with the audience the same joy and passion that I feel for the music.

Thank you to Beatport and Miller Mix for this opportunity and to everyone who has supported me along the way! These moments will stay with me forever.

Give us an overview of your music career.

I am a DJ and music producer who immersed myself in the world of electronic music in 2020. During this time, I mastered various techniques for creating tracks and honed my unique style, which blends melodic techno and Afro house. My music is a dialogue between energetic club rhythms and melancholic, atmospheric soundscapes, each of which tells its own story.

In 2024, I won this amazing producer competition, which became a turning point in my career. This achievement opened doors to collaborations with renowned artists and labels, as well as participation in prestigious music festivals and events.

My creative journey is just beginning, and I am determined to grow, experiment, and delight my listeners with new tracks and unforgettable performances. Music is my language, and I intend to speak it louder and brighter.

Tell us a bit about your musical style and approach to production

In the process of creating music, I actively experiment with different instruments and software. In addition to VST plugins, I often use live percussion and samples from real instruments, which allows me to bring a unique sound and atmosphere to each track.

Against the backdrop of the growing demand for Afro house, I decided to combine elements of melodic techno and Afro house, creating a unique sound. This creative experiment led to my victory in the music producer competition. Currently, I continue working on new projects in this genre and plan to keep releasing tracks in the Afro house style, which is one of the most popular genres in contemporary music.

How did you feel when you learned you had won Beatport x Miller’s producer competition?

Beatport is huge and one of the most dominant music platforms in the world. Hearing that I had won a competition hosted by them in South Africa was a life-changing opportunity. At first, I couldn’t believe seeing the email. However, my gut told me before 2024 ends, it will be a life-changing moment that will shine a spotlight on my life forever. I entered the competition knowing very well that I am humbly one of the candidates to beat because of the trust I have in my music production, But that email and announcement proved to my parents and family that I’m in the right industry — the music industry. I’m usually a mysterious guy, a person who likes people getting curious to know him such that I’ve developed a life principle of letting respect, aura, energy, personality, and most importantly, my brand, do all the talking for me. However, Beatport has unleashed a great and well-determined music producer and superstar in me, and the world is not ready. I am now ready to change the world through music.

Music chose me as its disciple and image for a reason. With that side, I would humbly and gratefully thank Beatport for shining the light on me. Let’s change the lives and emotions of people out there. Bless up!

Give us an overview of your music career.

I've been writing house music for the last 8 years. I was playing in bands as a drummer before that, and for me, it was a natural gravitation to drum machines, samplers, and sequencing after many nights in raves and clubs. These things led me to electronic music production with a focus on the house genre.

My house production career started with a focus on sample-based jackin house and disco house with some international recognition, including a #1 jackin house track in 2019 (“The Love Test” released on Souluxe Records), the #4 Jacking house producer in 2019, and top 100 over the following years. Multiple #1 releases on digital platforms for disco house records between 2019-2024, 3x ARIA #1’s for Original tracks (Australian Aria Club charts), tracks played on Toolroom / Urbana / Glitterbox / Defected radio shows, plus lots of support and plays in multiple internationally recognized DJ sets.

I’ve been blessed to play on the same shows and hand over to the likes of Purple Disco Machine, Claptone, Rodger Sanches, Mark Farina, David Morales, Miguel Migs, Dimitri from Paris, Boy George, Todd Terry, and many more. Thanks to the Miller remix competition, I can now add Armand Van Helden to the list!

More recently, my style has changed and is focussed on groove-based tech house and new school minimal house that is less genre-specific and all about a balanced blend of styles, creativity, and functional floor-filling arrangements. The Miller remix I produced fits into this category with a new school minimal style and groove focus to keep the dance floor moving.

How did you feel when you found out you won the competition?

Pretty excited! As everyone knows, the DJ circuit is quite a competitive scene. It was great to win the competition and support slot for AVH based on authentic skills honed over years as an artist and not completely on the ability to influence. This shows the authentic nature of Miller and Beatport getting behind real artists to showcase one of the core skills required to keep dance music alive in this new era. Armand was on my hit list as an artist to meet or support, so that is now off the bucket list! (PS: Armand is not only an amazing producer, but after having the chance to chat with him, a really down-to-earth and genuine guy). Thanks again to Miller & Beatport for the opportunity!
