Nohan’s music isn’t just something you listen to—it’s something you feel. Drawing from the raw energy of nature, diverse cultures, and personal experiences, the Milan-based producer crafts immersive soundscapes that transcend the dancefloor. With releases on renowned labels like Bar 25 Music, All Day I Dream, and Crosstown Rebels, he remains committed to originality in an industry increasingly shaped by trends. In this interview, Nohan shares his creative process, thoughts on the underground scene, and what’s next for his sonic journey.

Music has the power to transport people to different emotional and spiritual states. Do you think music is something we create or something we discover?

Nohan: No doubt, it’s a combination of these two things.

You say your music blends mystical elements with deep, organic soundscapes, drawing inspiration from nature and diverse cultures. How do these influences shape your creative process, and what role does the natural world play in your sound?

Nohan: My music is the result of what happened around me. Experiences that I lived and lived in the past are very often described in my music, and nothing like nature gives me the first input in the creative process.

You’re based in Milan. How has your environment influenced your musical style?

Nohan: Milan is important, like every other place I have lived in. My city is probably no longer the place that resonates better with me, but I still have a lot of inspiration from Milan.

How has your sound evolved over the years? Do you see your music heading in a new direction in the future?

What’s the most challenging part of being an electronic music producer today?

Nohan: This is a very good question; thank you for it.

I just understood that I want to be myself, and this is the only way to be underground.. if today, it still makes sense to talk about “underground”. Many tracks sound identical, and it looks like the industry is losing its personality and originality in following the main trends of the moment.

So I think I want to be Nohan with more energy then before but always being myself, that’s the goal.

Can you walk us through your creative process when crafting a new track? Do you start with melodies, rhythms, or a concept in mind?

Nohan: There are no rules in my workflow, but often, I start from a very simple groove, and I try to find something special to arrive at the main idea of the song.

Your latest release, the Poets of the Night EP on Bar 25 Music, carries a deep and atmospheric vibe. What was the inspiration behind this project?

Nohan: My vision of the night and my vision of love. The combination of these two elements is what inspired me in this song.

The EP includes a remix by Eli Nissan, an artist known for his rich, melodic touch. How did this collaboration come to life, and what do you think his remix adds to the original track?

Nohan: Eli is an amazing producer and his remix is really beautiful for me. He is also a great person and looks like something else is in the making from us. You can expect something new very soon.

Anyway, he was able to give the song more energy, remaining very minimalist. I love it so much!

You’ve released on Bar 25 Music, All Day I Dream, Crosstown Rebels, Hoomidaas, and more. How do you choose which labels to work with?

Nohan: Yes, I am very proud of this thing because I have loved these labels for years, and now having releases on them is amazing for me. Of course, what this label did in the past is important, but many of them are doing in the present changes that will define their importance in the future of the industry, and I hope to be with them again with new music in the next years.

If you could collaborate with any artist—past or present—who would it be and why?

Nohan: I would love to work with Radiohead Beachouse I always felt that underground touch in their work... such a dream!

What do you hope people take away from your music?

Nohan: I hope they see another person like them who describes life for what it is, with goals, love, good and bad things because life is like that.. but always with that invincible hope in the future that will drive us to solve all the problems. Problem doesn’t exist, solutions does!

In a world that moves so fast, your music encourages a more reflective and immersive experience. Do you see your work as a form of escapism or as a way to reconnect with something deeper?

Nohan: Again, thanks for this question! Yes, music for me is this incredible chance to let things go.. to close myself in my studio, and create another world where things work differently.. how they should be. We are loosing the simple things, we are running back things that we don’t really want, things that we don’t really need. We should return to simple things like animals, nature in general, and real connections between people. It’s a game changer; at least it is for me!

What’s next for you? Are there any upcoming releases or projects we should look out for?

Nohan: Lots of new music is ready. Two EPs are coming in February and April.. and maybe something more that is very near to be confirmed!
