Fatboy Slim is giving a glimpse into what it's like to work in music for 40 years with his new book: It Ain't Over 'til the Fatboy Sings. The book includes live photos, tour posters, and untold stories of obscure memorabilia he’s collected throughout four decades as the Funk Soul Brother.
"Next year, I'll be celebrating 40 years in showbiz, and to celebrate that we thought we'd create a big book full of stuff which I've kept over the years of my long and chequered career," Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, said in a press release. "You'll see what I've kept and read about what it all means in one big, beautiful book."
Prior to becoming Fatboy Slim, Cook was in several bands including the Housemartins, Beats International, Freak Power, and Pizzaman. He adopted the name Fatboy Slim in 1996, and he released his debut album, Better Living Through Chemistry, in the same year.
His second album, You've Come a Long Way, Baby (1998), saw him rise to international acclaim. The LP is certified platinum and includes hit singles “Praise You,” “Right Here, Right Now,” and “Rockafeller Skank.”
Cook continues to produce new music today, having just released another funky house cut, “Role Model,” alongside a tightly-wound remix from French dance maven, Chloé Caillet.
