Funkin Matt Releases "Super Soaker" – A Garage-Driven Dive into 90s Nostalgia

The second single from Funkin Matt’s Nostalgia EP is here! Fully infused with garage vibes, Super Soaker continues the journey into the unforgettable memories from the 90’s, drawing the audience into a nostalgic and ethereal atmosphere that brings back the best moments of their childhood. This time, it’s all about the legendary water gun that every kid used to play with during summer, sharing epic battles with friends. 

Funkin Matt: “With the first track of this EP, Tamagotchi, I wanted to create the sound of a dream — super soft and airy. If Tamagotchi is naïve and positive, Super Soaker is more hopeful and emotional. It’s all about the small glides and how the melody slowly evolves throughout the track, reaching its full form in the final drop. This track is a fusion of many influences — I wanted to pair fast-paced, tight garage vibes with soft, melodic, glidey synths and a very organic, analog-feeling bassline that drives the track forward.”

Funkin Matt is a well-known face within the Heldeep family, as he’s been good for 10 releases on the label so far - including his 2020 collaboration ‘Somebody’ with label boss Oliver Heldens. In addition, his official Mariah Carey remix "You're Mine" reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and became a Future House classic, and with Zeds Dead he created the melodic house tune  'Feel So' which has become one of his most popular tracks on Spotify to this date.
