The track features Marsha (Martine Theeuwen)'s iconic vocal line, paired with a dream-like reimagining of the original melody and the unmistakable drum-and-bass elements that define both artists. Already supported by major figures in the scene such as Sub Focus and Dimension, this anthem is set to become a permanent fixture in drum-and-bass sets for years to come.

“Two years on and ‘Castles In The Sky’ is finally being released! This collab has taken various forms and has been played out countless times over the past couple of years but it’s now ready to be put out into the world, and we’re so happy that you all can finally listen to it in full,” said 1991.

“I was introduced to ‘Castles In The Sky’ growing up through my parents; it’s one of their favourites from the era and coincidentally, also one of mine. It's so good to see our spin on it finally released to the world,” Subsonic added.

This release is a significant milestone for British drum and bass artist 1991, who recently headlined a successful tour in Australia alongside Culture Shock. Known for his innovative reimaginings of classic tracks, 1991’s ‘Castles In The Sky’ follows his previous successful remixes of Supermode’s ‘Tell Me Why’ and Mason & Princess Superstar’s ‘Perfect (Exceeder)’—the latter of which was played by Armin van Buuren during Ultra Miami 2024 and David Guetta at Tomorrowland.
