A long-lost Avicii track has finally seen the light of day—just in time for Valentine’s Day. Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version), featuring Sandro Cavazza, has been officially released, offering fans a heartfelt gift from the late EDM icon.
This version of Forever Yours gained renewed attention after being featured in the recent Netflix documentaries I’m Tim and My Last Show. The former provides an intimate look into Tim Bergling’s life, struggles, and creative genius, while My Last Show presents his final performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza in August 2016, a defining moment that now holds even deeper significance for fans. The release of this track serves as both a heartfelt gift and a nostalgic reminder of Avicii’s extraordinary impact on electronic dance music.
Avicii, known for hits like Wake Me Up, Levels, and Hey Brother, was a pioneer in blending EDM with folk, country, and pop influences, creating a signature sound that reshaped the genre. His ability to craft melodies that felt both euphoric and deeply emotional set him apart, making him one of the most beloved DJs and producers of all time.
He and Swedish singer-songwriter Sandro Cavazza first began working on Forever Yours in early 2016. Avicii played different versions of the song throughout his final touring year, capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide. Following his passing in 2018, Cavazza collaborated with Kygo to release Forever Yours (Avicii Tribute) in 2020 as a way to honor his memory.
The song’s official release follows a series of posthumous tributes that continue to celebrate Avicii’s legacy. Last February, an unheard Avicii remix of Zac Brown Band’s Beautiful Drug was made available for the first time. In June 2024, his final Swedish performance—recorded at the Tallriken in Pildammsparken, Malmö in 2016—was released online. That same month, a photobook titled The Life and Music of Tim Bergling was published, with proceeds benefiting the Tim Bergling Foundation, which works to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
On this Valentine’s Day, Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version) serves as a touching tribute to Avicii’s artistry—his music, always full of love and emotion, remains forever yours.
