Sammy Virji will drop his latest garage heater, “I Guess We’re Not The Same,” this Friday, February 14, via Polydor Records. After a YouTube preview last month and a teaser at the end of last week stating “‘i guess we’re not the same’ coming soon,” Virji has revealed the official release date.

Virji’s global fanbase has been waiting for this single after several viral moments over the last few months. The track was a centerpiece at his massive Boiler Room in Denver this past October, which has racked up nearly 700k views at the time of writing. Four Tet also played it during his latest Lot Radio session back in December.

Now, after numerous unofficial rips have been posted to SoundCloud, the track will soon be available. This will be Virji’s first official release of 2025. His previous was his high-flying bassline tune, “Damager,” from November of last year, produced alongside his fellow UK contemporary, Interplanetary Criminal.

Where that track channeled dancefloor moments of pure rage, “I Guess We’re Not The Same” shows off Virji’s more soulful side, emphasizing a sweet, delightful singer serenading the audience over a more refined beat. The drums still channel Virji’s inimitable talent for busy grooves but maintain a softer quality to match the vocals.
