Heldeep Records is ready to fully embrace its new distinctive garage sound and the best way to do so is by releasing a full EP from one of its most loyal artists with more than 10 singles already out on the label: Norwegian-born and based Funkin Matt. Recognized as one of the pioneers of Future House, he has refined his sound over the years and is now launching an exciting new EP that embraces these fresh garage vibes.

Tamagotchi kicks off as the first of four tracks leading to the Nostalgia EP, a sensational journey that celebrates the rediscovery of the past, inspired by the unforgettable memories from the 90’s.

Funkin Matt: “After returning from Shambhala—an incredible festival nestled deep in the Canadian woods—I found myself in an inspired creative flow. Imagine a massive rave in the middle of nowhere, with hundreds of lasers illuminating the treetops and thousands of people dancing together. It felt surreal, like a dream or a live movie set.

This EP is inspired by that feeling: dreamy, airy, and free-flowing. Stylistically, it draws influences from the '90s and '00s, reimagined through a 2025 lens. Growing up in the '90s, I remember the magic of hearing groundbreaking tracks for the first time. While nothing can replace the songs that shaped you as a kid, this EP seeks to recapture that essence — pure nostalgia.”

Funkin Matt is a well-known face within the Heldeep family, as he’s been good for 10 releases on the label so far - including his 2020 collaboration ‘Somebody’ with label boss Oliver Heldens. In addition, his official Mariah Carey remix "You're Mine" reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and became a Future House classic, and with Zeds Dead he created the melodic house tune 'Feel So' which has become one of his most popular tracks on Spotify to this date
