Loco Dice is putting out his fourth studio album, Purple Jam, on May 23, 2025, and this announcement comes with his new collaborative single with Carl Cox. The track is entitled “Road Runner,” and it channels the same raucous energy these two bona fide dance music legends have brought to their shared sets time and time again.

Speaking on his longstanding relationship with Cox, Loco Dice says: "I am Carl Cox’s biggest fan. I’ve known the man since my early techno beginnings. It was a blessing when he spotted me at my first gig at Circoloco in 2002. That was the kick-off of my career and the beginning of the beautiful journey that still lasts. Somewhere on the way I remixed Carl’s 'Family Guy' in 2016. I was invited to join him on several US bus tours, on many Ultra stages worldwide, and at his famous residency at Space Ibiza. Our crazy b2b closing battles were highlights of my seasons.”

“Road Runner” has a heavy, percussive feel paired with a throbbing, rounded bass line — the kind that enters your body through your ears and takes complete control of your movements. It’s a simple piece of music, but after over 50 years of combined experience, Loco Dice and Carl Cox know exactly what a dance floor needs. Nothing more. Nothing less. Listen below.

“Today I’m honoured to have worked with Carl on my new single 'Road Runner'. It was named after his beautiful Plymouth Road Runner that I fell in love with when I visited him in Australia. Here’s to the future. Oh yes, oh yes!" Loco Dice continues.

“Road Runner” is the second single from Purple Jam following “Heavy Heart,” a collaboration with Skrillex and Fireboy DML. Where “Road Runner” is simple and massive, “Heavy Heart” is intricate and experimental. The tech house tune includes Loco Dice’s mastery of groove, Skrillex’s affinity for rowdy sound design, and Fireboy DML’s smooth African vocals.

Loco Dice and Carl Cox's single "Road Runner" is out now via Virgin. Buy it on Beatport.
