She's a pioneer in South Africa's electronic scene, particularly Amapiano and Gqom. Mixmag and Benji B acclaim her as a genre authority and bridge-builder between continents. Her international performances include sold-out shows, most notably 'Abantu' at Village Underground. Charisse C's mixes are featured on platforms like Boiler Room and BBC Radio. In 2021, she co-founded 'The Ascension' with Koek Sista, presenting an immersive, bass-heavy, and culturally rich live experience. Their debut EP showcases their unique take on African electronic music, celebrated for its artistic depth. Charisse C also curates #AbantuNoSignal, a bi-weekly show exploring Southern African music and stories, spotlighting diverse artists and genres.
