Beatport has announced its Next Class of 2025, spotlighting rising talent in the world of electronic music. Among the featured artists is South Africa’s Thakzin, a trailblazer in the 3Step sound, blending Amapiano, Afro, and Deep House to create a truly unique musical experience.
Beatport has unveiled its highly anticipated Next Class of 2025, highlighting emerging artists who are set to shape the future of dance music. Now in its fifth year, the program offers rising stars the exposure and opportunities needed to expand their reach and influence within the global electronic music community.
Among the exciting names in this year’s lineup is South African DJ and producer Thakzin, widely recognized for his pioneering 3Step sound, a fusion of Amapiano, Afro, and Deep House. His viral single, “The Magnificent Dance,” and collaborations with industry icons like Zakes Bantwini have cemented his position as a global force. Supported by heavyweight DJ Black Coffee, Thakzin’s electrifying performances have graced prestigious stages at events such as Ultra South Africa and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Reflecting on his inclusion in the Beatport Next program, Thakzin shared, “I’m honoured to be selected by the Beatport Team to help me spread my message wider in 2025. It will be an important year as I will release my biggest body of work to date, my debut album, and I wish to see people discovering the authentic side of African Dance Music culture more.”
