Eight Emerging Artists On Our Radar: January 2025
Welcome back to On Our Radar, Beatportal’s monthly roundup of the DJs and producers we can’t get enough of.

DXNBY
Doncaster-born, Leeds-based DJ/producer DXNBY doesn’t stick to one genre – his productions weave between minimal house, 2-step, and speed garage. He’s released on Eastenderz, neXup, META, Belief, Seven Dials, and What NxT and has built a loyal following with his self-released DX Files that blend a range of underground genres. Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, East End Dubs, and Franky Rizardo regularly play out his tunes, and he’s won airtime on BBC Radio 1 and KISS UK. His release “Bumpin” on Eastenderz went straight to the top of Beatport's top 100 and Minimal / Deep Tech charts and amassed over 100,000 streams in under a month. Away from the studio, DXNBY regularly DJs in the UK, Ibiza, and Amsterdam, with 2025 shows already lined up across the UK and in France and Malta.

Purient
Purient is the moniker of DIY electronic producer and vocalist Kate Durman and a fixture in Melbourne/Naarm’s vibrant underground electronic scene. As one-third of the ultra-emotive dream-pop band Acopia, Purient crafts immersive soundscapes that balance the ethereal with the raw and abrasive while subverting traditional pop tropes. Purient grew up listening to Kylie Minogue, All Saints, and Sade on repeat, and when she discovered Tirzah, Pearson Sound, and Vegyn she combined the two worlds, seamlessly blending pop sensibilities with dreamy, textured electronica. Her latest EP Mwah via S.C.D.D. is a continuation of this, exploring themes of fantasy, desire, intimacy, and disconnect. The 5-track project cements her name as an artist who can expertly channel multiple sonic worlds.

Mitch Oliver
Montreal's Mitch Oliver is spearheading the East Coast’s melodic wave. The DJ and producer has won over house heads all around the world with his deep house productions and vibrant DJ sets. He’s performed at Igloofest, Burning Man, and SXM Festival and released on Get Physical, Glasgow Underground, Renaissance, TrybesOf, and Hoomidaas. Mitch Oliver’s brand new track “Secret” in collaboration with Might Delete Later and released on Mitch’s own SLAPPED imprint has already racked up thousands of streams. With a fast-growing fanbase and support from industry titans like Hernan Cattaneo and Sam Divine, there’s no doubt his star will continue to rise.

peachlyfe / Soft Pxrn
Meet Soft Pxrn, the new alias from trance and techno producer peachlyfe. The new project explores rave-infused modern prog music, all while shining a light on the Danish LGBTQIA+ landscape. In December, Soft Pxrn released their debut EP Raver Equation on PEACCH Records, bridging the gap between progressive house and rave music. The first track, “Perfect Hydration,” is a euphoric opener with cascading melodies that lays the foundation for the raw and gritty “Natural Abrasion,” while “5AM Meditation” captures introspective dance floor moments with its deep bassline and shimmering synths. This debut release has the depth and versatility to capture global attention, so you can expect to hear some Soft Pxrn on a dance floor near you soon.

Body Clinic
It’s fair to say there’s no stopping Body Clinic. Real name Rory Gilmore, the London-based, Belfast-raised artist has shared line-ups with Denis Sulta, Amelie Lens, In2Stellar, and Papa Nugs and played AVA Festival and Boiler Room in a very short space of time. He’s released on HARDLINE, Piff, Goddezz, 39 Records, and Duality Trax and has started the year with a bang. His latest EP – a collaboration with Wigs to create Body Wigs – is a four-track project rooted in UK tech-house. It’s fun, vibrant, energizing, and simultaneously nostalgic and progressive. Body Clinic’s tracks have been played on Rinse FM and BBC R1, and he counts Amaliah, LUXE, and Jamz Supernova as fans. And with this spicy new EP, he’s about to win a whole lot more.

Choopsie
LA-based DJ/producer Choopsie rounded off 2024 in style with her 4-track Drift EP via HE.SHE.THEY. Records. It’s an exploration of sound and emotion, encapsulating the joy and transcendence of the rave while immersing listeners in her intricately crafted musical world. Choopsie treads the line between house, trance, techno, UK garage, and breakbeat, traversing genres with texturally rich productions. Since her 2020 debut, she’s become known as a standout force in the West Coast underground with a unique approach to sound design and releases on Shall Not Fade, Dirtybird, and Silver Bear Recordings. And she’s just getting started – you can expect a whole lot more to come this year.

PISAPIA
Neo-rave DJ and producer PISAPIA just released his Revolution EP on PRTY TRX, unleashing three relentless techno productions into the stratosphere. Hailing from Rome, PISAPIA has released on labels like Rave Alert, 9x9, No Mercy, Eturia, and Taapion, honing an unapologetic and uncompromising style that’s garnered support from Amelie Lens, Nico Moreno, SHLOMO, Lee Ann Roberts and many others. With his latest EP, PISAPIA leans into the brutal side of techno with fizzing synths, edgy drums, and brain-frying stabs – think strobe lights, pyrotechnics, and volcanic bass. PISAPIA already has big plans for 2025 with an Australia and US tour in the works and tons more releases lined up.

Natty Lou
Cardiff-born and based Natty Lou hasn’t always been a Drum & Bass producer. She was a championship-winning dancer, a broadcaster on Data Transmission, an events manager at Concrete Junglists, and a geography teacher. Now she’s one of the most exciting names in UK D&B; nominated Best Female DJ in the Drum & Bass Awards 2024, Best DJ for Drum and Bass Arena Awards 2023, and named One to Watch by UKF in 2023. She’s played Ministry of Sound, Drumsheds, Printworks, The Warehouse Project, and many more. Since she turned her hand to production in 2023 she's released on Liquicity, Bassrush, Viper Recordings, NCS, and others. Her latest release "Think of U” is arguably her best yet – four minutes of pure UK D&B gold. So keep your ears peeled – 2025 has Natty Lou’s name on it.
