Hi Fleur, thanks for taking the time to talk with Beatportal. We’ve been enjoying your new Cécille release, the ‘333’ EP. For those yet to hear it, could you tell us a little about this record and what it sounds like?

Thank you so much for having me! This record is something completely new for me—it’s loopy, clubby, and just rolls effortlessly. It really takes me back to the Amnesia Terrace about 10 years ago, with that kind of hypnotic, timeless energy.

You have roots in the UK’s underground and have over the past few years spread your wings further afield across the globe, gracing many major hotspots such as fabric, London, Kappa Futur Festival, and Amnesia and Ushuaïa Ibiza. Can you give us a little walk-through of your journey as a producer and DJ to this present time?

It’s been quite the journey! I started DJing nearly 11 years ago when I got a tiny Traktor controller for Christmas. I taught myself how to mix, and after about a year of practicing at home, I started playing in clubs. But honestly, those first few years were humbling—I was mostly playing warm-up sets to empty rooms. Even so, I had this gut feeling that something bigger was coming, so I stuck with it.

About six years ago, I decided to take the leap into producing. I made a promise to myself that I’d spend time in the studio every day, even if it was just an hour. When lockdown hit, I fully immersed myself in it—I quit my part-time job and made music my entire focus. That period was really when I found my sound.

Three years ago, I signed with an agent, and everything started to fall into place. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to play at some of the best clubs in the world, and I’m truly grateful every day for where this journey has taken me.

Beyond an impressive run of shows at the aforementioned clubbing spaces, you’ve also released material on the Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz and Archie Hamilton’s Microhertz, and now the widely beloved Nick Curly and Marc Scholl-helmed Cécille. Can you give us a little rundown of your production process, what gear you predominantly use, and what sonic aesthetics you’d most closely associate with your own music?

I love drawing inspiration from the 90s house sound—it’s what I grew up hearing at raves when I was about 15 or 16. I use a lot of plugins like the Roland Cloud, and I aim for my tracks to sound raw and crunchy, just like they used to back then. I think there’s something so timeless about that imperfect, organic feel.

This new EP, although sounding very fresh, also harkens back to a more classic house sound, utilizing choppy samples, raw loopy rhythms, and catchy vocal hooks. How did these tracks come together with Cécille, and what was the process in sculpting them to become a perfect fit for this label’s distinctive sound?

Cécille has always been a label I’ve admired. It has such a specific and respected sound, so I knew I had to create something that really fit their vibe. I wanted to craft tracks that were loopy but full of groove, and I feel like this EP hits that mark. It’s been such a rewarding process to bring it all together with them.

What does the future hold for you in 2025? Anything beyond this upcoming release you can share with us—major shows, release plans, or anything else?

2025 is going to be a year of pure creation and artistry for me. I want to really make my mark and focus on sharing my creative vision. I’ll be launching my new brand at the end of March, and I honestly can’t wait—it’s going to be such a personal platform for my music and ideas.

And… there might even be a clothing brand on the way. Let’s just say, stay tuned!

What’s one track that you’ve been playing in every set these days, one that’s been shifting things up a gear in the clubs?

It has to be Kamorah - To The Point. I recently discovered him, and honestly… wow! It’s such a game-changer in my sets.

Lastly, can you leave us with something outside of music that’s been bringing you joy of late as we enter into this new year?

I live quite a simple life outside of the music world—it’s all about balance for me. When I’m home, I love walking my dog, spending time in nature, sitting in the woods, and being with my loved ones. The industry can be so intense, so it’s the little, peaceful moments that really bring me the most joy.
