Victoria’s Sonic Revolution: How Ratata Merges Baile Funk and Techno with Unstoppable Energy

Victoria has embarked on an electrifying solo journey. But this time, she’s traded her bass for DJ decks and the roar of stadium crowds for the pulsating energy of underground dancefloors. With her latest single, Ratata, Victoria dives deep into a creative playground where baile funk collides with techno, crafting a track that’s as raw, sexy, and explosive as the artist herself.
In this intimate look into her solo venture, Victoria speaks candidly about her inspirations, the creative freedom of DJing, and the visceral connection she seeks to ignite with her music.

The Spark of Ratata

When Victoria steps into the booth, she’s not just DJing—she’s sculpting a narrative, bending rhythms and emotions into something unique. Her approach to crafting Ratata was no different.
“When I mix, I love layering and switching between these two genres. I might play a heavy techno track but keep the percussions or Portuguese vocals from a baile funk track that’s lighter but so full of energy,” she explains.
For her, Ratata was born from this duality, a fusion of the relentless intensity of techno with the playful, body-moving grooves of baile funk. “I wanted a track that captures both—the heavy, distorted punch of a 4x4 techno kick and the sexy, fun rhythm of baile funk. That’s what makes it exciting for me: blending genres and creating something that’s both intense and vibrant.”
But Ratata isn’t just a genre experiment. It’s a love letter to the Latin music scene that has profoundly inspired her. Victoria openly credits artists like Cyberkills and CRRDR for shaping her creative direction: “The chopped Portuguese vocals, the rhythmic percussion, even the structure—it’s all drawn from that sound that’s popping in South America. I wanted to channel the unique energy of this music while giving it my own twist.”

The Crowd as Her Compass

For Victoria, the real magic happens when her music meets the crowd. She calls this connection the lifeblood of her creativity: “Seeing the crowd’s reaction to a track I’m working on is everything. That’s where the feedback comes alive.”
The first time she played Ratata live, the reaction was immediate and electric. “Even though the track went through so many changes after that first play, the energy was always there. The crowd just resonated with it. There’s this long buildup in the track that creates so much tension, and when the drop finally hits, it’s chaos in the best way possible.”
This symbiotic relationship between Victoria and her audience pushes her to constantly refine her craft. Every live set is an opportunity to test new ideas, hear what works, and make the music even better. “Playing unreleased tracks live gives me such a clear sense of what’s missing or what needs to change. It’s like having the best feedback loop right there in real time.”

From Rock Icon to Dancefloor Innovator

Transitioning from global rock icon to underground DJ might seem like a daunting leap, but for Victoria, it feels liberating. “The electronic music scene is a completely different world from what I’ve been used to,” she admits. “There’s no formula, no months of planning a release. It’s just me creating music that excites me, music I’d love to play in my sets.”

The Making of a Club Anthem

Victoria’s approach to producing Ratata was as raw and energetic as the track itself. Starting with the foundation of baile funk rhythms, she built layers of intensity by adding distorted techno kicks and chopping up Portuguese vocal samples. “I wanted those vocals to have texture and movement, something that feels alive. The goal was to create something raw, something that has energy pulsing through every beat,” she explains.
And yet, Ratata stands apart from her debut single Get Up Bitch! (Shake Ya Ass) with Anitta. While the two tracks share a bold energy, Victoria sees them as distinct. “With Get Up Bitch!, I structured the track to make space for Anitta’s vocals. But with Ratata, it was more live-inspired, so I focused on crafting a pure club track with long buildups, big drops, and that high-intensity energy.”

The Fire of Live Performance

Last month, Victoria treated fans in São Paulo to an intimate pop-up performance where she gave them an exclusive first listen of Ratata. She describes the experience as unforgettable: “For me, the connection with the crowd is everything. That’s what I love the most about DJing—feeling their energy, their excitement. When you’re in an intimate setting, surrounded by the audience, it becomes this shared moment. That’s why I wanted to do the pop-up show, to celebrate that energy with the fans.”
The overwhelming support from both fans and fellow DJs has been a validating experience. “Hearing that DJs like VTSS and Peggy Gou are playing my tracks is insane. It’s so rewarding to know that the music resonates with people and motivates me to keep creating.”

What’s Next for Victoria?

Victoria’s exploration of electronic music is just beginning. Her future plans promise a melting pot of influences, from Miami bass to guaracha, electro, and even ghetto tech. “There’s so much I want to dive into. I’m working on tracks that blend all these sounds, and there’s no limit to where I want to go next. It’s all about experimenting and discovering new things while keeping my own twist.”
As she continues to push the boundaries of her artistry, one thing remains clear: Victoria’s music is a reflection of her fearless spirit. “I want my tracks to connect with people, to move them. When someone hears Ratata, I want them to feel an unstoppable urge to shake their ass!”
With a lineup of collaborations and solo releases on the horizon, Victoria is lighting up the dance music world with her bold, genre-defying sound. Whether onstage or behind the DJ decks, she’s proving that her creativity knows no boundaries.
