The legendary Tomorrowland festival brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the release of One Year, a 45-minute documentary premiering on YouTube on December 27, 2024. The film offers an immersive look into Tomorrowland’s milestone year, capturing the magic, music, and cultural influence of the world’s most iconic electronic music festivals.
A Global Celebration
Over two decades, Tomorrowland has expanded far beyond its flagship event in Boom, Belgium, becoming a global phenomenon. The brand now spans breathtaking locations like the snow-covered peaks of the French Alps for Tomorrowland Winter, the lush landscapes of Brazil for Tomorrowland Brasil, and the deserts of Dubai for its Terra Solis events. One Year takes viewers on a visual journey through all these stops, offering an unprecedented behind-the-scenes glimpse at the scale and creativity behind the festival empire.
The documentary explores hallmark festivals like Tomorrowland Belgium, Tomorrowland Winter, and Tomorrowland Brasil, as well as exclusive events including CORE Tulum, CORE Medellín, the "Our Story" show at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Terra Solis Dubai, and Ushuaïa Ibiza. The footage promises to capture not only the grand stages and euphoric crowds but also the intricate artistry of the Tomorrowland Atelier, the in-house team that designs and builds its legendary stages.
Artists, Fans, and the Making of Tomorrowland
Featuring interviews with electronic music heavyweights like Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, Alesso, Steve Aoki, and Indira Paganotto, the film also spotlights stories from festival-goers and staff who bring Tomorrowland to life. As Steve Aoki puts it, “Everywhere I feel, touch, see… is Tomorrowland. It doesn’t matter if I’m in Brazil or France. And definitely—obviously—in Belgium."
Beyond the Music
One Year isn’t just about the beats and the stages. It’s a celebration of the dreams, energy, and community that make Tomorrowland more than a festival. From the breathtaking visuals to the deep connections forged on its dance floors, the documentary highlights why Tomorrowland remains at the forefront of global culture 20 years on.
