What is LabelRadar?
LabelRadar, part of The Beatport Group, connects artists with labels, remix contests, and collaborators worldwide, streamlining the music industry and transforming potential into opportunity.
The music industry is notoriously tough to navigate, whether you're an emerging artist looking to take your first step or an established artist seeking to reach new heights. We aim to eliminate barriers and accelerate artists’ paths toward sustainable, fulfilling careers. At LabelRadar, we focus on one clear goal: creating meaningful connections that push artists forward. Whether it's getting signed to a favorite label, discovering new labels to work with, winning a remix contest that provides breakthrough exposure, building a passionate fan base, or collaborating with a like-minded artist, we’re here to transform potential into opportunity—when you're ready to take the next step in your music career.
How LabelRadar Works
LabelRadar is built as a platform that helps artists connect directly with labels actively seeking new talent from all over the world. Here's how we make that happen:
Demo Submissions: Artists can submit their demos to labels across nearly every genre, including labels from around the world they may not have discovered yet.
Remix Contests: Artists can join remix contests, giving them opportunities to grow their fanbase, hone their production skills, and connect with industry professionals.
Follow Favorite Labels: Artists can follow labels they admire for exclusive updates on new opportunities and releases.
Artist Network: Through LabelRadar’s vibrant Artist Network, artists can find collaborators by connecting based on DAW, genre, skills, location, and collaboration preferences (remote, in-person, or hybrid).
Real-Time Notifications: Artists receive real-time updates on their tracks and engagement with their artist profile, allowing them to stay informed and responsive as new opportunities arise.
In addition to artists, fans also play a pivotal role by endorsing tracks, uncovering talent, and gaining recognition when the tracks they support go big. This dynamic interaction fosters a space where career-changing connections can be made.
To ensure the best experience for all, label accounts are application-based, with each applicant thoughtfully reviewed to meet our standards. This ensures that artists are connecting with serious, reputable labels. Additionally, we only display labels that remain active on the platform, automatically delisting any that become inactive to ensure artists are always pursuing viable opportunities. We've also introduced a community feedback feature that allows artists to review their experiences with labels, promoting transparency and accountability.
What LabelRadar Offers
Artists using LabelRadar have access to a powerful platform that gives them direct exposure to labels and collaboration opportunities. If you're an artist looking to make the most out of LabelRadar, here are some tips:
Submit your demo—even if it's not perfect: Don’t wait for the perfect moment; feedback is a critical part of growth, and a 'no' now may just mean 'not yet.'
Complete your profile: Labels want to know who you are as an artist. The more complete your profile, the better your chances of connecting with them.
Try the general submissions pool: This one-to-many submission approach ensures that more labels see your demo, especially if you’re on the free LITE plan. It’s less targeted then direct submissions however it’s a good way to
Collaborate with other artists: Use the Artist Network to find collaborators based on your preferences. It’s a great way to expand your fanbase, develop skills, and open creative opportunities.
Join remix contests: Participating in contests is another excellent way to grow and engage with industry professionals.

How LabelRadar began
On a stormy night in 2014 when Ed Brew and I crossed paths during a charity music project. As both artists, with experience working on the label side, we were frustrated with the disjointed nature of the music industry—demos getting lost, the inaccessibility of key decision-makers, and the difficulties in getting new talent signed. We knew there had to be a better way.
That’s when we teamed up with Juan and Sebastian Ferreras—brothers and technical co-founders who had worked with me on a previous venture. Together with Ariel Kohan (who jokingly turned down a post at Hogwarts to join us as lead developer), we officially incorporated LabelRadar in November 2017.
In the early days, we balanced full-time jobs while building LabelRadar. After securing Monstercat as our launch partner and attracting major labels like NCS, we knew we had something special. By 2020, Ed, Ariel, and I transitioned to working full-time on LabelRadar. Since then, we’ve won awards like 'Best Online Platform for Music Discovery' and continue to grow.
So whats next for LabelRadar? As part of The Beatport Group (acquired May 2022), LabelRadar is on an exciting journey of continuous growth. We will keep improving the platform and expanding into new genres like Hip Hop, Rock, and Pop. Our vision is to keep making the music industry more transparent, efficient, and accessible.
