Introducing The Color Agent: Redefining representation in entertainment

Established in 2014, The Color Agent (TCA) was born out of a passionate desire to transform the entertainment industry by amplifying LGBTQIA+ representation. Rooted in a personal journey of finding solace and connection through music, TCA’s founders saw how the industry often marginalized LGBTQIA+ artists, leaving their talents overlooked. 

Determined to create change, they envisioned a curated platform serving as both a safe space and a launchpad for authentic voices. More than a community, TCA became a movement to celebrate diversity, break stereotypes, and ensure LGBTQIA+ talent thrives both in front of and behind the scenes. By prioritizing talent above all else, TCA is revolutionizing how the world sees and supports LGBTQIA+ industry professionals, creators, and artists—one empowering story at a time.

The Color Agent aims to transform global perceptions of the LGBTQIA+ community through the arts, using music as a powerful tool to influence culture and advocate for equity. By prioritizing talent over orientation, TCA creates pathways for LGBTQIA+ creators to navigate the entertainment industry and turn their brands into thriving businesses.

The collective has been a launching pad for several Grammy Award-winning and mainstream artists. They currently host one of the longest-running all-LGBTQIA+ showcases annually at SXSW. Rooted in values of diversity, belonging, and opportunity, TCA fosters a close-knit, supportive community where every voice is celebrated and empowered to thrive.

The electronic music community in Dallas is vibrant and growing, with increasing visibility for LGBTQIA+ artists across various genres.
