Will Clarke Unveils Debut Album 'Midnight Mass' Ahead of Launching New Live Show Concept
Marking a defining moment in his illustrious ten-plus years in electronic music, acclaimed DJ, producer, and Grammy-nominated songwriter Will Clarke has released his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Midnight Mass,’ weeks out from launching a brand-new supporting live show concept: ‘The Midnight Mass Experience.’
Across 13 tracks, 'Midnight Mass' showcases Will Clarke's vision of music as a unifying force, emphasizing collaboration at its core. Co-produced and co-written by long-time friend and collaborator Mitch Jones, the album also features contributions from top-tier artists such as the House Gospel Choir, Blythe, Sharlene Hector, and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Hayla. Marking a shift from Will’s focus on producing club tracks, the album blends his signature house-meets-techno sound with a strong vocal presence, making it equally fitting for both the dance floor and casual listening.
Vocal-led cinematic tracks like ‘Summit’ featuring Georgia Meek and ‘Weekend Love’ with House Gospel Choir add depth, while more club-focused productions, such as ‘Worship’ featuring Karen Harding and co-written by Clementine Douglass, bring an infectious energy. The album closes with ‘You Alone,’ the second track from the album to be co-written with acclaimed artist and songwriter Hayla, offering a fitting conclusion that captures the feeling of closure as the lights fade and the crowd disperses.
Will Clarke said: "I’m nodding to the sound that’s shaped my career so far and keeping the live setting in mind, whilst showcasing my love for songwriting. Each track features a strong vocal presence from a host of amazing talented artists, and the album in general is a huge collaborative output which makes it so special. The tracks are designed to make listeners feel something.”
Accompanying the album comes a brand-new live show concept: The Midnight Mass Experience. Temporarily stepping away from DJing, Will is set to debut a visually immersive performance series across six major North American cities, starting in Los Angeles on November 22, 2024. Blending Will’s catalog of iconic tracks with tracks from his latest album, the show will present a manipulation and combination of hardware synthesizers and drum machines, all synchronized via MIDI. The result is a fully live, cinematic experience, with no CDJs in sight, as Clarke crafts an immersive electronic soundscape in real time. Visually driven, the show also includes layered, time-coded cinematic visuals displayed on LED screens, designed to synchronize seamlessly with the music and elevate the sensory experience.
