Yulia Niko Brings "Glam" to the Dance Floor with her Freshly Minted Label, AXEPT
Berlin-based DJ/producer Yulia Niko teams up with Bákayan for "GLAM," the debut single on her new label AXEPT via Empire.
Yulia Niko has had a magnificent run of releases in 2024. Back in March of this year, she dropped her heartfelt and consummate debut album, TWINSOUL, via Armada Music, with follow-up releases on labels like Voltaire Music, Higher Ground, [PIAS] ÉLECTRONIQE, and Tomorrowland Music.
Now, after seven years of releasing her music on some of the electronic music scene's most reputable imprints, Yulia Niko is bringing her very own label to the forefront, AXEPT — created in partnership with EMPIRE Records.
For its debut single, she's teamed up with German artist Bákayan to create "Glam" — a fresh reinterpretation of Technotronic's timeless '80s track "Pump Up The Jam." Combining its retro charisma and modern dance floor sensibilities with sleek synth work, electrifying percussion, and salacious vocals, the track is a nod to the past with a sound that resonates in the present. "Glam" marks the first of many collaborations that Yulia Niko and Bákayan plan to deliver, and with this strong debut release for AXEPT, we're looking forward to hearing what fresh offerings the label has for us down the road.
