Chloé Caillet and SG Lewis Cook Up a New Collaborative Tune with "B Somebody"
After previously teaming up for "Costa" in March, the pals return with a new candidate for heavy rotation.

When two musicians walk into Chloé Caillet’s kitchen, expect the expected (a meal) and the unexpected (new music).
Cue “B Somebody,” the SMIILE Records head’s latest single, and her second with her “dear friend” SG Lewis, following “Costa” in March. (Their debut team-up notably sits at the peak of Caillet’s Top Ten Tracks list on the Beatport store).
“This track came about in such an organic way. I was in my kitchen cooking some food for us and Sam [SG] was playing this track that we’d just wrote in the studio,” she recalls. “I spontaneously started humming along, with a new melody and lyrics. Sam made me jump straight back into the studio and jump on the mic and sing it."
Sonically, “B Somebody” sounds just as carefree as the moment that spawned it. It’s a heady hit of energy fashioned with breakbeat rhythms and the sort of dancefloor ambiance that’ll recommend it for peak-time play in a sweaty, blue-tinted dance club.
“B Somebody” shares the same jaunty personality as Caillet’s last single, “B Good” alongside Nyra, which landed in early September. Now, on its titulary similar follow-up, Caillet doubles down on this live-for-the-weekend vibe — just in time for the weekend. Listen below.
While the DJ/producer and multi-instrumentalist is no stranger to the club circuit or the decks, she’s not as used to standing behind the microphone. Caillet nevertheless strolls past the parameters of her comfort zone on “B Somebody,” which marks her vocal debut.
“I met Chloé last summer when we went B2B at my Elsewhere takeover in NYC. It was the first time we had met or played together, but the musical chemistry was immediate…Chloe is a multifaceted artist whose talents extend far beyond DJing and production, so it’s amazing to see her singing on her own record for the first time and growing creatively,” SG Lewis shared.
Chloé Caillet and SG Lewis' joint track "B Somebody" is out now via SMIILE RECORDS. Buy it on Beatport.
