Upon its February revelation via Defected Records, “You & Me” emerged as proof that the music industry still holds the promise of firsts for its most-established acts. Surprisingly, Moby’s outing alongside Naples-based DJ/producer Anfisa Letyago marked his first release via the British indie powerhouse — an occasion that the collaborators have since celebrated with a slate of remixes from Deetron, Girls of the Internet, and even the mononymous artist himself. SG Lewis is the latest to join the party of creatives tasked with re-imagining the one-off, arriving with a polished and propulsive take that rhythmically picks up the pace and expands the remixers’ complementary pool of sounds. Listen below.

While Deetron channeled smooth underground idiosyncrasy emboldened by soulful piano, Girls of the Internet deepened the track’s gossamer character in a chilled-out framework. Moby meanwhile upped the sophistication, flooding streamers’ speakers with a rush of ambrosial, chiming chords that unfurl across its run-time with an ethereal sense of ease. SG’s contribution is clearly the most club-minded and floor-filling of the set, maintaining the sense of cool that permeates the collection of remixes while flexing his ever warm and cerebral electronic savvy.

SG Lewis’ remix of “You & Me” is out now via Defected Records. Buy it on Beatport.
