Support Women DJs: Empowering Femme Artists in the Electronic Music Scene
Rach Brosman Leads the Charge for Change
Support Women DJs

Support Women DJs (SWDJ) is a platform that amplifies the voices of femme-identifying DJs and artists in electronic dance music. Founded in Bushwick, Brooklyn, SWDJ was born out of a passion for music, a commitment to gender inclusivity, and a desire to provide a platform for underrepresented talent in the electronic music industry.
The idea for Support Women DJs came from Rach Brosman, an entrepreneur and electronic music enthusiast, who recognized a significant gap in representation for women and femme-identifying DJs. After attending countless raves and festivals, she saw a lack of diverse lineups and felt compelled to address this imbalance.

Drawing on her experience in marketing and community-building, Rach launched SWDJ with a debut event in February 2024 at the Sultan Room in Bushwick— which sold out. Over 300 ravers of all genders came out to celebrate the Support Women DJs launch. The movement quickly gained traction, leading to a vibrant community of artists and fans united by their love for electronic music and their commitment to gender equity.
The primary mission of Support Women DJs is to create opportunities for femme-identifying DJs to showcase their talent, both locally and globally. SWDJ is committed to breaking down barriers in the male-dominated electronic music industry and fostering an inclusive space where all artists can thrive.

The collective’s activities are driven by core values of equality, empowerment, and community. Every event is carefully curated to reflect these values, with lineups that feature not only diverse talent but also a safe and welcoming environment for attendees of all genders.
Since its inception, SWDJ has achieved several notable milestones. In under a year, Support Women DJs has grown to a team of 6, produced over 45 events, held 2 residencies, sold over 400 merch units, and recorded 8 podcast episodes.
SWDJ has held shows at Brooklyn’s hottest venues including Elsewhere, SILO, and H0L0, booking across genres to add top talent to their lineups including Canabliss, GG Magree, Callie Reiff, Val Fleury, & DJ Dave. They have partnered with brands including Cyclebar, Glowbar, & Equinox, and have grown their NYC community in a massive way.

Support Women DJs has quickly become a go-to resource for both new and established female DJs, offering unparalleled support and visibility. The collective is now gearing up to host larger-scale rave events and has plans to expand globally.
Through its bold vision and commitment to gender equality, Support Women DJs continues to make a significant impact on the electronic music scene, providing a platform for talented artists and helping to create a more inclusive future for the industry.
