Pete Tong Launches Remix Competition to Celebrate New Single "Release Me" with Poppy Baskcomb, Paul Harris and Jules Buckley

Pete Tong is celebrating the release of his latest single "Release Me" with Poppy Baskcomb, Paul Harris and Jules Buckley by launching a global remix competition. “Release Me” will be available on all download and streaming platforms from Friday, October 11th, 2024 under Ministry of Sound Recordings.

This competition, an exclusive partnership with Pete Tong’s DJ Academy, offers aspiring DJs and producers the chance to remix "Release Me" and showcase their talent. The winning remix will be officially released by Ministry of Sound, and the winner will perform alongside Pete Tong at his renowned Ibiza Classics show at London’s O2 Arena in December 2024.

A Platform for Emerging Talent

The winner will not only have their remix released by one of the most prestigious labels in the industry but will also take the stage with Pete Tong at the Ibiza Classics show on December 13th, 2024.

Scholarship for Non-Academy Entrants

Although the competition is focused on students of Pete Tong’s DJ Academy, one non-academy participant will also win a full scholarship to the academy. This provides access to world-class DJ training from mentors like Pete Tong, Carl Cox, and Jamie Jones, helping new talents develop their unique style.

Follow these simple steps to participate in this exciting global remix competition:

1. Download the Stems
   Click the “Download Stems” button to access the individual track components (vocals, bass, synths, etc.) from the single "Release Me."
   
   

2. Create Your Remix
   Using your preferred digital audio workstation (DAW), remix the song "Release Me" with vocals from Poppy Baskcomb. You are encouraged to showcase your unique style, but ensure the core elements of the track are present in your remix.
   
   

3. Create Your Video DJ Set
   Alongside your remix submission, upload a 60-minute video DJ set featuring 100% House Music. This set will demonstrate your live performance skills and must follow these guidelines:

   • Length: 60 minutes

   • Video Orientation: Horizontal (landscape) mode

   • Framing: Ensure both you and the DJ console are fully visible

   • Single Take: Record the set in one continuous take—no edits or cuts

   • Audio Quality: Use DJ software or hardware to capture high-definition audio

   • No Speaking: Let the music do the talking—no verbal commentary
     
     

4. Submit Your Remix
   Once your remix is complete, submit it by uploading your track to the Label Radar page. Make sure to follow all submission guidelines, including the format and size of the remix file.
   
   

5. Follow the Deadline
   All remix submissions must be uploaded no later than November 5th, 2024. Ensure that your remix is completed and submitted before this date to be eligible for consideration.
   
   

6. Stay Tuned for Results
