Both considered at the forefront of the DJ scene, Chris Lake and Disclosure have been supplying their fans with hits for over a decade now. “in2minds” is no exception, as the single combines elements of each artist's DJ style to create a sound that will be brought into clubs and festivals with ease. The heavy, rolling bass meshed with distinct and sporadic synths is a recipe for a track that brings all the energy. Listen below.
“This was a fun and natural collaboration for me,” says Chris Lake. “We made ‘in2minds’ the first day we got in the studio together. Disclosure and I are both pretty technical and with this song it feels like we kind of flexed on each other a little bit. The result is the collaboration of two minds.”
Chris Lake made his breakthrough with a string of No. 1 singles in the late 2000’s, and has topped the charts recently with his hits “Summertime Blues,” “Beggin’,” and “More Baby.” Lake has headlined EDC Las Vegas and closed out multiple Coachella stages, and he is the founder of Black Book Records, which has helped elevate rising talent such as Cloonee, Mochakk, HoneyLuv, and more.
Disclosure, consisting of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, released their debut single “Offline Dexterity” in 2010 when they were just teenagers. This was followed by their 2013 debut album Settle, which included their breakthrough hit “Latch” featuring Sam Smith. The 8-time Grammy nominated duo has amassed over 11 billion combined global streams, and most recently, saw success with their hit single “She’s Gone, Dance On."
"I've been a fan of Chris's work since discovering his track 'Piano Hand,' and only recently discovered we’ve been neighbours in LA for a few years now,” says Guy Lawrence of Disclosure. “When we finally connected, our first time working together led to this track ‘in2minds,' a fast-paced, bass-heavy 808 driving track with a nice blend of each of our styles & vibes in there. This is just the first of a few bits we have cooking. I hope you all enjoy this one."
Disclosure & Chris Lake's joint single "in2minds" is out now via Black Book Records. Buy it on Beatport.
