Hype Label of the Month: Yamatai Records

An emerging force in the world of drum & bass, the Kent-based imprint Yamatai Records is making serious moves with a gun-fingers-up ingenuity that is hard to ignore. Founded and established in 2021 by James Williams, the label is becoming well-known for its diverse and eclectic catalogue, with chat-topping tunes working their way up the ladder in Beatport's Drum & Bass Top 100. At its core, Yamatai Records is an incubator for some of the genre's most up-and-coming names, such as Kalane, Pine, R3IDY, XAETIS, Melysma, and more. With its clear vision of making serious waves on the dance floor and putting its impactful sonic stamp in the new age of underground drum & bass, Yamatai Records' journey and mission is only just getting started.
