Alex Culross Scores a Summer Hit with 'Drum Tool'
Rising producer Alex Culross shares the story behind his recent hit, his journey with Black Book Records, and the support that's catapulted his career this summer.
Alex Culross has taken the club scene by storm with his track ‘Drum Tool’, a driving, high-energy instrumental that’s been lighting up dancefloors all summer long. From Ibiza’s hottest venues to major festivals like Creamfields, ‘Drum Tool’ has received widespread support from some of the biggest names in dance music, including Jamie Jones, John Summit, Marco Carola, Michael Bibi, Skream, Seth Troxler, and more.
Reflecting on the success of ‘Drum Tool’, Alex shares, “This is my first time releasing a track consisting of basically only an instrumental, so for it to be received this well is amazing to see.”
Culross’ inclusion in the Black Book IDs: Chapter 8 compilation is a career-defining moment for the rising star. “Being a part of Black Book IDs means a lot to me. It’s been one of my goal labels from the very beginning of my music career. I first got in touch with Chris Lake back in 2021, but it wasn’t to be until now—three years later—so being able to say ‘I did it’ is a very satisfying achievement for me.”
