French producer Fumaria takes us on a journey through dark and mystical sonic realms.
Fumaria makes us sway with a new melodic techno-house track encased in saturated beats, creating clouds of harmonies and bringing out strong and unpredictable energies that create contrasting emotions, between brutality and softness.
Fumaria explains, “Translating a confused mental state into music was my goal for this track, as it reflected what I was experiencing at the time.”
Fumaria's creative process is deeply rooted in his inner emotions and thoughts. Influenced by tracks like "Eclips" by Biskuwi, "Eternity" by Anyma, and "Take Me High" by Deadmau5 and Kx5 Kaskade, ‘Confusion’ combines powerful sound design with intricate melodies.
A notable aspect of ‘Confusion’ is the absence of vocals or spoken words, which is rare for Fumaria’s work. "I was surprised by myself when I got to the mastering stage and realized there were no added vocals. It just didn’t need them" he recalls. This creative choice enhances the raw and unfiltered emotional expression of the track.
Fumaria used Ableton Live for production, favouring virtual synths like Sylenth1 and Serum. "Balancing techno arrangements with a more saturated, darker sound was key here," he says. One of his favourite parts of the track is the lead that escalates after the first break, rapidly shifting from bass to treble in a thrilling sequence. “This specific passage reflects the mental confusion where thoughts come and go at high speed, trapped in a loop, out of reach” he explains.
Fumaria views this creation as both an evolution and an exploration of new horizons. He enjoys experimenting with new methods and sound designs while maintaining his unique style. “I refuse to stay fixed; I try to make my music evolve through exploration and experimentation,” he says.
For his fans, Fumaria hopes they simply enjoy the track. "My music is a reflection of my states of mind, and I think my fans listen to it because they feel something similar or can identify with those states of mind through my beats. I hope they enjoy it, that this track makes them dream, drift, and dance" he says.
