Introducing: Her Dancefloor

Established in 2021, Her Dancefloor is a community that began due to the need for support and interaction amongst female-identifying and non-binary individuals in the dance & electronic music industry. Boasting over 1,000 members today, it has grown into an international community that powers and aims to drive change in the dance music industry.

Dance music began in 1980s Chicago as an art form and safe space for the marginalized. Over the last four decades, it has increased in popularity, but has decreased in diversity. Driven by the original mantra of the subculture’s promise, we celebrate and elevate women, female-identifying and non-binary individuals. Since our launch, we've hosted gatherings at major conferences such as Miami Music Week, built a network of long-lasting mentorships and relationships, and provided worldwide support for our community.

The organic community includes artists, managers, music executives, promoters, creatives, and more from across the globe, unified in mutual respect and love, with the goal to move the needle. Today, 63% of senior music executives and 72% of artists on dance-oriented lineups are male. Through our efforts, our goal is to close the gap to 50/50 and help our members feel less alone in this industry.
