Beatport has joined forces with Microsoft to create a three-part series of mini-documentaries — accompanied by unique livestreams in remarkable locations — which will highlight ambitious and game-changing electronic acts whose passion for technology has helped their creative endeavors reach new heights.

With our shared commitment to big, bold, and innovative ideas, Microsoft and Beatport’s Game Changers series was made possible with the help of Microsoft Surface. Built to empower people, Microsoft Surface is a creator’s best friend, inspiring everyone to shape the world around them in their own unique way.

For part three of the Game Changers series, we travel to Switzerland to link up with melodic deep house muse Nora En Pure. Fully embracing the arrival of summer, we join the globally revered dance music headliner for a 90-minute Game Changers DJ set near the shores of Lake Arnen, a stunning and sparkling body of water known as the “Pearl of the Saanenland.” Fans can tune into the livestream on Friday, June 25th at 5:30 PM CEST via Beatport’s Twitch Channel, or watch it via YouTube below!

In addition to her musical performance, we go on to investigate Nora En Pure’s distinct music brand, Purified, a weekly radio show that airs every Saturday on Sirius XM Chill and one of her biggest passion projects. In a mini-documentary that will air the following week after her livestream, we figure out what it takes for her to put on the show each week, her track selection process, and the type of technology that helps her power it all.

In our previous episode, Beatport and Microsoft linked up with techno heavyweight Chris Liebing to celebrate the forthcoming release of his 2021 album, Another Day, dropping on November 19th via MUTE.

Closely collaborating with Mute founder Daniel Miller to nail down the LP’s flavor and cadence, Another Day is a unique departure from the pummelling techno that Liebing has made himself known for on dance floors worldwide.

“With this album, I wanted to take myself out of it as much as possible,” explains Chris Liebing. “I’m a strong believer in letting the moment decide what’s happening. If you’ve studied your setup and you know what you’re doing, then you can let the moment take over because you’re not busy trying to figure out how things work.”

On May 26th, Chris Liebing premiered some of this music for the first time during his LIVE 90-minute Game Changers DJ set on Beatport’s Twitch Channel. The performance took place at an abandoned Cold War listening station turned street-art hotspot known as Teufelsberg (Devil’s Mountain) in West Berlin. You can rewatch the broadcast below.

In addition to airing this one-of-a-kind performance from the techno phenomenon, Beatport and Microsoft traveled to the artist’s current home base in Switzerland and hit up Riverside Studios in Berlin for an intimate chat with Chris Liebing and Daniel Miller. In this mini-documentary, both Liebing and Miller go into detail about the sound and workflow behind their forthcoming album, the connection and mutual respect that helped their collaboration blossom, and the technology that made it all possible.

Previously, we took a trip to the Swiss Alps’ snow-capped peaks for a stunning showcase and deep dive into the creative process of Swiss DJ/producer Soma Soul and his vocal and piano accompanist, Ed Begley. Working on immense and touching musical projects throughout 2020, the pair’s musical efforts came together in full during the height of the pandemic, making the most of their isolated circumstances and pouring all of their efforts into their craft. With Soma Soul stationed near Zurich and Ed Begley living just outside of London, their tracks came together over vast distances, making the most of the technology available to them to find a musical synergy that has put both artists on the map. The partnership has resulted in intimate record Complacency EP and their cinematic single, “Missing.”
