Hailing from Leicester, UKG duo Y U QT has been on a tear as of late.
Since 2019, the pair have dropped EPs and singles on labels like Time Is Now, Kiwi Records, and most notably, on South London Pressings — the home of their latest release, Dancehall Damager EP.
The four-tracker consists of two instrumentals and two featured tracks with grime MCs Riko Dan and Logan — spitting their distinct flows on full blast for the title track, “Dancehall Damager,” and the b-side, “Like Dat,” respectively. The whole record is a UKG triumph, hardwired with buoyant breaks, laser-focused one-shots, and nasty low-ends. Y U QT’s signature sound continues to take form with an irresistible gun-finger attitude. Listen to the full EP below.
