The distinguished UK dance-pop and tropical house artist Jonas Blue has put his remix prowess behind David Morales‘ timeless club single, “Needin’ U” — out now via Electronic Nature Records.
First hitting the airwaves in the summer of 1998, the original tune quickly became one of the year’s best dance floor anthems — hitting number 8 on the UK singles chart and number 1 on the Billboard Dance charts — and is still looked upon as one of Morales’ most illustrious productions.
Twenty-four years after its initial release, Blue reached out to Morales during the pandemic in the hopes of revitalizing this iconic track for modern audiences. The result is a hard-hitting piece of house music dynamite, with beefed-up basslines and sharp synth stabs that will light a fire under your feet. Listen below.
“David Morales has always been a big inspiration for me,” says Jonas Blue. “I always wanted to remix his track’ Needin’ U,’ and after the pandemic and with the world starting to return to the clubs and dance scene, it felt like the right time to bring a fresh take on this monster of a dance floor classic. I’ve been playing it out for a while now and am so hyped to finally release it just in time for summer”
