Ibiza's Clubs Won't Be Allowed to Open This Year
Bad news from the White Isle.

For what is likely the first time since Ibiza had a clubbing season, the island’s superclubs will remain locked this summer.
That’s according to local Ibiza newspaper El Diario, which states that the Balearic government is not going to allow many nightlife establishments, like nightclubs or discos, to open in 2020.
The news comes after months of questions surrounding the 2020 Ibiza season. Some club owners had hoped to start the season late, pushing it well into November. That will now not be happening.
In fact, the local government also said that clubs may remain closed into 2021, or until an “effective coronavirus vaccine or treatment” becomes available, according to El Diario.
Club owners have pushed back, and hope to institute social distance measures, like reduced capacity, reduced hours, increased sanitary conditions, and seated events.
However, Mr. Doris, an Ibiza resident DJ, shared a press release from Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza announcing that the season had been cancelled.
Meanwhile, tourism has resumed in Mallorca, where “hundreds” of German tourists arrived on Monday. They were among the first visitors allowed into Spain since the start of coronavirus lockdowns in March.
