Bicep have dropped their first new music since 2018 — a much-awaited taster of their upcoming second album. Entitled “Atlas,” the new single is available now via Ninja Tune, and is sure to satisfy those who have been eagerly awaiting fresh material from the beloved Irish producers. Featuring the same cascading chords, gentle breakbeats and hints of euphoria that made the likes of “Glue” and “Opal” such inescapable anthems, the track is is said to be an emotional reflection on their extensive touring following the success of their debut, self-titled album.

In response to the unfolding COVID-19 epidemic, Bicep have recently been forced to reschedule a number of European tour dates. Commenting on both the release and the current crisis, a statement from Bicep reads that “It would’ve been unthinkable to foresee the circumstances this track would be released in when we were making it,” but that the duo hope that the single “serves as some form of distraction amidst all this chaos.”
