Marina Trench Drops her Enlightened 'Free Mind' EP
The Parisian house maestro debut self-release features remixes from Cinthie and Anna Wall.
Following the release of her impeccably groovy Over There EP on Dam Swindle’s label Heist Recordings earlier this year, up-and-coming French house music star Marina Trench has just dropped a new self-released five-track EP titled Free Mind.
Since 2019, the Paris-based artist has been picked up by labels like Deeply Rooted, Nowadays Records, and Wolf Music Recordings, and remixed by the likes of Kerri Chandler and DJ Deep. And with this new EP, she also adds Cinthie and Anna Wall to her list of remixers.
Kicking things off with the vocoder-driven and breezy track “Something,” Marina Trench sets the mood before floating into her lush title track, “Free Mind,” — complete with sputtering chord sequences, swinging drums, and soothing chants. Her tune “Overcome” follows with a distinct and jazzy downtempo vibe, directed by its broken drum patterns and shimmering keys.
Hoping in for remix duty, Cinthie takes a crack at “Free Mind” with an inspirational piano-house touch before London’s Anna Wall breaks through with a low, sweltering, and dubbed-out version of the same track. Listen to the full EP below.
