Marina Trench Debuts on Heist Recordings with her 'Over There' EP

Dam Swindle‘s label Heist Recordings welcomes rising French house producer Marina Trench into the fold with her new our-track deep house record, the Over There EP.

With only a handful of releases under her belt since her 2019 debut, Trench’s tracks have been picked up by labels like Deeply Rooted, Nowadays Records, and Wolf Music Recordings, and she’s been remixed by the likes of Kerri Chandler and DJ Deep.

For her Over There EP, Marina’s ingenious sampling methods and knack for crafting subtle yet elegant arrangements ring true with the record’s opener, “Sunrise.” With its groovy trumpet riffs, classic house piano chords, and guiding arpeggios, “Carry On” is as fine a jazzy deep house cut as you’ll find on Beatport.

On the flip side, Marina layers her own vocals on an infectious house groove for the EP’s title track, “Over There,” and brings the whole thing home with “Wake Up” — a warbling and sexy dance floor enchanter featuring vocals of French Algerian artist Sabrina Bellaouel.

“As far as label debuts go, we could not have hoped for a better one,” Heist Recordings label heads Lars & Marteen state. “We’re sure we’ll get to see a lot more of Marina in the near future and hope she serves as a shining example for other emerging producers.”
