Rex The Dog Returns to Kompakt with 'Change This Pain For Ecstasy' EP
Rex The Dog makes a joyous return to his Kompakt Records home
Ralph Moore

Returning to his Kompakt home in Cologne for the first time in three years, the new single from Rex The Dog (the artist formerly known as Jake Williams), is a reliably uplifting and slow-burning vocal disco jam from the UK-born DJ and producer who once recorded as JX and as Rex The Dog has remixed Depeche Mode, Moby, Fever Ray and Robyn along the way.
Charged with typical analogue energy, Rex The Dog’s new single is backed with an equally incisive second cut called “Moto.” Jake Williams is not just a producer of course. Rex The Dog is also a visual project and Jake a visual artist, and the cartoon Rex character that adorns all of his artwork is a theme he still uses (not to mention appearing on his highly coveted Rex The Dog merchandise). His two biggest hits before becoming Rex were “Son Of A Gun” and the equally thrilling “There’s Nothing I Won’t Do.” Listen below.
Rex The Dog’s Change This Pain For Ecstasy is out now on Kompakt Records. Buy it on Beatport.
