Beatport Exclusive: Carl Cox & Fatboy Slim Drop “Speed Trials On Acid”

Two of the UK’s most venerated dance music figureheads, Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim, have hit the studio together to create a new certified banger, titled “Speed Trials on Acid” — available now exclusively on Beatport.

Carl Cox first teased the track during this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Dan Diamond — a veteran US vocalist and producer who has previously worked with acts like DJ Godfather, Mark Knight, and Pete Tong — features as a spoken word artist on the tune.

Driven by bright piano chords and a tasty acid lick that builds with ferocity over time, this mammoth collaboration is here to warm our bones on the dance floor as the winter months roll away and clubs prepare for their summer season.

“It was beautiful synchronicity between Melbourne, Brighton, and Detroit, where all the stars aligned and you (Carl Cox) sent me the music and Dan had sent me a vocal, and I thought, ‘what if those two went together?’ And they went together like bubble and squeak,” Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) said during a recent Instagram link-up between the artists to talk about the track.
